Worse still, it may prevent the engine from starting completely. So any indication of ECU trouble must be monitored carefully, and if a fault arises, it should be addressed as soon as possible.

Without a proper equipment, we could still analyse and ‘assume’ our ECU’s condition. There are few obvious sings or symptoms occur that can be noticed. Here are some of the symptoms that we need to alert.

1. CHCEK ENGINE LIGHT ALWAYS ON

2. HARD TO START OR NO-START CONDITION

A malfunctioning ECU can cause difficulties in starting your vehicle, as it is unable to properly transmit signals to the engine. This may result in intermittent starting issues, where the engine cranks but fails to start. In more severe cases, the engine may not crank at all

3. UNSTABLE OR ROUGH ENGINE PRFORMANCE

Experiencing rough idling, engine misfiring, hesitation, or poor acceleration? These common engine performance issues are often caused by a faulty ECU, which struggles to process accurate sensor readings. A malfunctioning ECU can lead to unstable engine performance and affect your car’s overall drivability

4. SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER / LIMP MODE

Imagine driving and suddenly your car loses power or goes into limp mode. This happens when the ECU detects an internal fault and activates protection mode, limiting engine performance to prevent further damage. A faulty ECU can significantly affect your vehicle’s drivability, making timely diagnosis and repair crucial
